Within the Midnight Network, the $STARS is the smallest unit of the token $NIGHT just as Lovelace is in the Cardano network. This means that, instead of using a whole NIGHT token, transactions can use fractions called STARS, making payments, network fees, and smaller operations within the ecosystem easier.
