🇺🇸 HELIOS Laser Defense – Overhyped?
U.S. Navy’s HELIOS ship-based lasers are impressive technology, but they are not a war-winning solution. Even defense officials admit they are mainly designed to neutralize minor aerial threats and serve as a last line of defense, not to stop massive drone or missile waves.
High-energy lasers still require huge power, long lock-on times, and advanced ship infrastructure. Destroying a single drone can take seconds of sustained fire, making them useful — but far from a true game changer in large-scale conflicts.
