Somnia’s design takes a different path from traditional blockchains by focusing on faster sequential execution rather than parallelization or sharding, avoiding common scalability bottlenecks.
Execution: A custom compiler translates EVM bytecode directly into machine code for faster processing.
Database (IceDB): Built from the ground up for predictable performance with read/write speeds of 15–100 nanoseconds.
