This is not a post sharing experiences or advice at all. It is long but I just want to write for myself so that in the future, when I read it again, I remember how greedy, failed, and foolish I was.
More than a day has passed since the worst Black Swan event in crypto history on 11/10/2025, the collapse of all altcoins dividing by 3, 5, 10, and even some dividing by 100 overnight has caused me to lose everything.
Everything started on March 20, 2025, I returned to the market after 4 years of waiting because I noticed that this year would be a booming year based on the economic cycle and the monetary market. With initial capital of $20k, I gradually DCA from that time until June 2025, liquidating all my phones to raise the capital to $50k. The position at that time was very good, most of the market had hit the bottom, and the coins I bought later all surged, even a few days ago my assets had risen to $100k. A beautiful picture ended when I woke up at exactly 3:30 AM yesterday to witness the whole horrific crash second by second, my heart seemed to stop, my blood seemed to stop flowing as the remaining money was just over $700. Holding coins means waiting for them to go back up, right? But no! Except for the Future orders that burned nearly $20k that I accepted losing, I have been affected by this feature like a double-edged sword that wiped out all the remaining money. That is "CRYPTO LOAN", during the investment process, the market has ups and downs, every time the market drops sharply, I use the coins I bought as collateral to borrow stable coins (USDT) to buy more coins that I want. The ratio is that 1 collateralized coin can borrow a maximum of 80% of its value, then I use that borrowed money to buy more and put it back into collateral and repeat to increase the amount of coins I hold. This method works very well due to the low interest and flexibility. The market rises and falls, it never increases indefinitely nor decreases indefinitely, so when it drops sharply, I always use this feature to increase the amount of coins held, when it rises, it rises more. Looking broadly, the trend is upward, so I do that. The risk is when the value of the collateralized coin equals 95% of the borrowed amount, everything will be liquidated. So I always keep it around 50-60% and I buy many types to collateralize to hedge against risks; some coins may crash while others may not. I collateralize many top coins because I think top coins are hard to halve. It means collectively, not just a few coins I bought that must drop sharply to hit liquidation. Indeed, I have always been right until the horrific crash occurred yesterday morning; everything was sold out, nothing left. Everything happened too fast; the night before that event, I still had over $85k, now I am shocked, not believing that reality, there are no coins left to wait for a rise, just over $700.
The market is truly ruthless; I always prepare myself psychologically that if it halves, at most I will break even, but it is truly harsh, a five- or ten-fold division overnight I hadn't thought of.
Having nothing in hand makes one realize the value of money; now when I look at my wife and children, I just want to say I'm sorry, and I feel truly miserable. Anyway, everything will pass; I realize that my wife and children are everything, and I have to continue and try 1000 times harder than before.
For now, I will stay away from social media for a while to stabilize my mind. Soon I will sell my phone again and hope that partners and customers will support me as before.
