U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Australia, Japan, South Korea, and once again NATO at a press conference at the White House on Monday evening, April 6, for the fact that the allies did not provide the United States and Israel with assistance in their war against Iran.

"Japan did not help us, Australia did not help us, South Korea did not help us, and here we come to NATO - and NATO did not help us", - lamented the head of the American state.

At the same time, he pointed to the military support that the USA, for its part, provides to the aforementioned countries. "We have 50,000 soldiers in Japan to protect them (the Japanese. - Ed.) from North Korea; we have 45,000 soldiers in South Korea to protect them (the residents of South Korea. - Ed.) from Kim Jong Un," he listed.

At the same time, Trump praised the actions of a number of countries in the Persian Gulf, acknowledging, however, that their participation in what is happening is related to their geographical proximity to the conflict zone. "Saudi Arabia has performed excellently, Qatar has performed excellently, the UAE has performed excellently, Bahrain, Kuwait," the President of the USA emphasized.

Trump on lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz

During the same press conference at the White House, Donald Trump emphasized that part of any proposal for ending the war between the USA and Israel against Iran should be the lifting of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by the Islamic Republic. He called this step a "very big priority."

Earlier, on April 1, Donald Trump stated in an interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph that he is "seriously considering" ending his country's membership in NATO, as Washington's allies in the North Atlantic Alliance refused to support the USA and Israel in their war against Iran.

In the same conversation with journalists, he expressed the opinion that Ukraine should have participated in the operation to lift the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. "Automatically, their (US allies. - Ed.) were not there, including Ukraine. Ukraine was not our problem. It was a test, and we helped them, and we would always help them. But they did not help us," the President of the United States was outraged.
