Speaking on The Wolf of All Streets Podcast, Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said the exchange's original 2018 customer service agent "cs_bob" was not true AI but rather an SQL script, which has since evolved significantly. CZ said approximately 80% of Binance's customer support inquiries are now handled from first response to resolution by AI, with a target of reaching 99%. He expressed confidence that advances in neural language models and new training data will close the gap. 

CZ described AI as one of three transformative technologies of his adult lifetime — alongside the internet and blockchain — and said the trajectory will shift from humans solving problems for AI to AI solving problems for humans.
