A man went to apply for a job as a janitor at Microsoft. In human resources, they asked him questions, tests, and interviews, until finally they told him:
—Congratulations! You are hired. We just need your email address to send you the schedule and contract information.

The man remained silent for a few seconds and replied:
—Well… the truth is, I don't have a computer. Nor an email address.

The recruiter looked at him seriously and said:
—I'm very sorry, sir, but without an email address, we cannot hire you. For Microsoft, email is essential: all internal communication is done through it. So, if you don't exist on the internet, it’s as if you don’t exist for us.

The man sighed, thanked them, and left. Walking down the street, he thought: “What do I do now? I have to earn money to buy a computer.” He checked his pockets: he only had 30 dollars. With that, he bought 10 kilos of apples from a farmer, went to a very busy avenue, and started selling them shouting: “Fresh and natural apples! Healthy and delicious!”.

In a couple of hours, he doubled his money. Six hours later, he had ten times more. There he realized that he could make a living without a boss, without an office, and without a computer. Time passed: he bought a van, then a fruit stand, then a small store, and five years later, he was the owner of a chain of supermarkets.

One day he went to an insurance company to protect his business. The agent said:
—Perfect, sir. I just need your email to send you the best offers.

The businessman smiled and replied:
—I don't have an email address. Nor a computer.

The agent, surprised, exclaimed:
—I can't believe it! With all the success you have, and without a computer. Can you imagine how far you would have gone if you had one?

And the man replied:
—Yes, I would probably be a janitor at Microsoft.

Moral: sometimes what we don’t have is exactly what allows us to go further.
