Commerzbank has indicated that the euro may appreciate against the dollar in the long term. According to Jin10, the European Central Bank (ECB) has more room to maneuver in addressing higher inflation compared to the Federal Reserve. The key factor, according to Commerzbank, is not the speed or magnitude of interest rate hikes, but rather which central bank successfully controls inflation. The bank noted that due to significantly increased import tariffs, the core inflation rate in the U.S. is higher than in the eurozone. However, pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump's administration on the Federal Reserve has made it challenging for the Fed to adequately respond to inflation shocks.
