India is conducting a pilot program for the e-rupee, aiming to incorporate it into a portion of its $80 billion welfare spending. According to NS3.AI, the Reserve Bank of India is exploring this payment channel to minimize fraud in subsidy distribution. The initiative also seeks to develop practical applications for the digital currency.
