China's National Development and Reform Commission has directed Meta to reverse its acquisition of AI startup Manus, valued at approximately $2 billion. According to NS3.AI, the decision follows an investigation initiated by China's commerce ministry in January 2026. During the review process, Manus co-founders were prohibited from leaving China.
