The price of bitcoin had a bearish trend during the tenth month of 2025, contrary to what was experienced in previous years.
The price of bitcoin ($BTC ) is closing October 2025 with losses, breaking a positive streak of six consecutive years in which this month usually recorded positive returns, a phenomenon known as 'Uptober'.
In October, the performance of bitcoin is around –3.5%, contrasting with the increases recorded between 2018 and 2024.
The following chart, provided by Coinglass, shows the monthly return of bitcoin since 2013.
To reverse this decline, the digital currency should close the day above USD 114,000, something unlikely given its current quotation close to USD 109,800, according to the CriptoNoticias Price Calculator.
Among the factors that contributed to the negative performance of bitcoin are geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, as well as the macroeconomic uncertainty arising from new monetary policy decisions by the Federal Reserve of the United States (FED). These elements drove the demand for liquidity in dollars and reduced the appetite for assets considered risky.
