Art Blocks and OpenSea's artist residency program aims to support creative artists, and we invite artists to apply for a 4-6 week personal residency program in Marfa, Texas.
Our artist cabins (or guest rooms) are fully equipped to provide a tranquil environment for resident artists to create, and participating artists will receive accommodation, a stipend, an Art Blocks studio contract, and time to focus on their art creation in the local Marfa environment and community atmosphere.
At the end of the residency program, artists will showcase their work to the local community. Artists participating in the Art Blocks x OpenSea artist residency program must not be attending school or participating in other residency programs at the same time, nor may they use the residency period to engage in commercial projects or commissioned works.
The project does not provide programming support; participating artists must be able to create and generate artworks or collaborate with individuals who can provide technical support.
Applications will be processed on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly.

Qualifications: Artists using generative, systematic, and algorithmic art must be at least 18 years old and possess good English working skills.

Portfolio Samples: Please provide links to your online portfolio, website, or other digital platforms so we can view your past work. Please share at least 10 pieces of work completed within the last five years to demonstrate your ability to execute proposed projects.
Why Marfa? Please explain what you hope to gain from Marfa, which may include engaging with the local arts community, exploring the desert landscape, or drawing inspiration from the work of Donald Judd and his contemporaries.
Resource Requirements: Identify the key resources you will need during your stay, including supplies and other support.
Time period: Please specify the specific time period within the year during which you can participate in the residency program.
