The richest department has closed!

The government is not opening; tonight there will be no non-farm payroll!

Due to the U.S. government shutdown, the non-farm employment data for October, originally scheduled to be released tonight at 21:30, is expected to not be published as planned.

This will be the second consecutive time that the non-farm report is "absent," as the September non-farm report also failed to be released normally.

The U.S. Secretary of Labor recently reiterated that the non-farm report will be released when the government resumes operations, and no economic data can be published before that.

On Friday, the U.S. Senate plans to vote on a new temporary funding bill to end the government shutdown; however, the Senate has previously voted unsuccessfully 14 times, setting a record for the longest duration of the U.S. government shutdown.
