The Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) identified that Brazil has three criminal factions with national reach and another 31 with the capacity to impact the security of at least one entire state.
The information was compiled in reports and presented on Wednesday (5) by officials of the agency during a meeting of the Commission for the Control of Intelligence Activities (CCAl).
In addition to the CV, the First Command of the Capital (PCC), originating from São Paulo, and the Third Pure Command, from Rio, were listed as factions with coverage in most of the country. According to the reports presented to Congress, the PCC's activities grew abroad, with a presence in 28 countries and 2.078 members mapped outside Brazil. The international plan ended up creating internal space for the CV, which ten years ago was the predominant faction in four states and today is in 20.
For Abin, the phenomenon of "nationalization of a Fluminense logic" is underway in Brazil. This would have occurred because the PCC is looking "more outside the country." The agents cited a salve (communication) from the São Paulo faction in 2018 in which they called on members who spoke Spanish.
