The API web provides data transfer between platforms and applications over the http protocol. For example, a long time ago I wanted to integrate a product on a website, I could set up API integration with an xml file. To give an example from a website, all web pages needed to be listed on google search console or we used the search console sitemap API to send the pages to google all at once instead of one by one, and we still use it.
