The Ibovespa rose 0.37% and ended at 157,738 points, again nearing 158 thousand, driven by the increase in oil prices and the recovery of Wall Street. Highlight for MBRF3 which soared more than 10% and Braskem (BRKM5) which returned to R$ 8 amid rumors of a deal for the sale of control.
Now the bombs of the crypto world:
A small island in the Pacific called Yap, which bought 1,000 bitcoins in 2012 when it was only worth US$ 10 thousand in total, now has a portfolio of more than US$ 90 million (R$ 515 million). They will sell only 10 to 15% now to fund infrastructure, health, and education, pocketing between R$ 50 and 75 million in profit. And the rest? It remains in HODL as a strategic reserve. Yap, famous for its giant stones as currency, is now one of the most legendary HODLers on the planet.
In the USA, the new SEC chairman, Paul Atkins, announced that he will create a new classification of tokens. The idea is to modernize the famous Howey Test: some tokens may start as securities, but over time, if they become sufficiently decentralized, they will fall outside the SEC's jurisdiction. This opens the door for thousands of projects to finally breathe without fear of lawsuits.
In Argentina, the Energy Value project won the national entrepreneurship award NAVES 2025. The idea is simple and brilliant: install Bitcoin miners at points in the electrical grid where renewable energy is being wasted (the famous “unutilized energy”). This way, they turn energy that would go to waste into immediate revenue through mining. In other words: sustainability + profit with Bitcoin at the same time.
Summary of the day: while Bitcoin continues to break records, even Pacific islands are becoming millionaires, the SEC signals a friendlier future, and Latin America shows that it is possible to win a national award by mining BTC with clean energy that would be thrown away. The future is now and it's becoming more and more crypto!
