What Sam initially created was neither a public blockchain, nor a computing power protocol, and certainly not the multi-agent computing systems we see today.

He originally just wanted to build:

A truly scalable distributed system

That can naturally collaborate like the Erlang Actor model

Without a center, without a single point of failure

Able to scale from a few machines to millions

His vision was very pure:

'What if all machines on Earth could work together like a single computer?'

So, he started writing some small programs in the laboratory, allowing several computers to send messages to each other and schedule tasks.

This was the initial prototype of the AO architecture.
