
Oil production in Colombia increased by 1.5% year-on-year in April, averaging 724,910 barrels per day, as reported on Monday by the National Hydrocarbons Agency. The April figure was the lowest in the past year.
Compared to March, production dropped by 2.1% — down to 740,497 barrels per day. Thus, the monthly trend is the opposite of the yearly: the production volume fell from a higher level of the previous month.
Commercial gas production in the country took a hit in April, dropping 14.2% year-over-year to 694 million cubic feet per day. Gas output also fell compared to March's figure of 700 million cubic feet per day.
The National Hydrocarbons Agency dropped some fresh stats about production in an official statement on Monday. They're doing a monthly check on oil and gas output across the whole hydrocarbon sector in Colombia.
Over the past year, oil production in Colombia has been pretty volatile, and the April numbers showed mixed trends compared to both year-over-year and month-over-month. The agency didn't provide any insights into the changes in production.
