The Brazilian stock market wrapped up Friday's session with a drop amid negative momentum from the raw materials, real estate, and energy sectors.

At the close on the São Paulo stock exchange, the Bovespa fell by 0.77%, hitting a 3-month low.

Leading the gains among the components of the Bovespa index at the end of today's trading were shares of C A Modas SA (BVMF:CEAB3), which surged by 0.42 points (3.84%), closing at 11.42. Quotes for Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBJ3) climbed by 2.66 points (3.82%), finishing the session at 73.00. The stocks of MINERVA ON NM (BVMF:BEEF3) increased in price by 0.10 points (2.79%), closing at 3.69.

The biggest losers were shares of Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3), which fell by 0.68 points (10.18%), closing the session at 6.03. Shares of Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) rose by 0.65 points (6.89%), finishing at 8.88, while Companhia de Saneamento de Minas Gerais Copasa MG (BVMF:CSMG3) dropped by 3.15 points (5.25%), ending the trading day at 56.85.

On the São Paulo Stock Exchange, the number of declining stocks (502) outnumbered those that closed in the green (476), while the prices of 39 stocks remained virtually unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility Index, which is based on options trading activity on Bovespa, decreased by 0.25% to 32.52.

The gold futures contract for August delivery dropped by 3.48%, or 156.91, hitting $4,348.09 per troy ounce. As for other commodities, WTI oil futures for July delivery fell by 2.87%, or 2.67, down to $90.37 per barrel. US coffee futures for July delivery saw a slight decrease of 0.20%, or 0.50, settling at $246.65.
