We were thrilled to rejoin the Binance community in Dubai for a second time, with Celo co-founder Rene Reinsberg breaking major news on the main stage with our partners at Opera, presenting Binance 100 Awards to talented creators, to meeting many of the 5,000 attendees at our booth, and more.
On Day 1, the Celo Foundation and Opera (NASDAQ: OPRA) took over the Main Stage to announce our strategic partnership extension to scale stablecoin wallet MiniPay for 1 billion global users by 2030.
Built exclusively on Celo, MiniPay boasts 11 million users across Africa and the world with 300 million transactions to date, which we’re committed to growing through added expansion in Asia and Latin America, real-time merchant payments and stablecoin-backed cards.
Rene and Opera EVP of Mobile Jørgen Arnesen talked about how MiniPay is a key driver of Celo’s 700K+ daily active users and role as the #1 transport layer for @Tether USDT with over 3 million weekly active users.
They also highlighted MiniPay’s momentum with 40+ Mini Apps that unlock access to Tether Gold, and more, plus the roadmap for 2026 afterwards in a shared @CoinDesk TV interview.
We also sponsored the Binance 100 Awards to celebrate researchers, community builders, and storytellers driving education and broader crypto awareness, where Rene presented the Independent Researcher awards.
The next day Rene joined @CoinDesk TV with @土澳大狮兄Leon to recap the awards, and emphasized the important role KOLs play in the crypto ecosystem.
Later, Rene was back on the main stage with @Ethena Labs , Hashed, @1inch Network , and Cypher Capital for the "When Markets Go Onchain" panel moderated by @邦妮區塊鏈 Bonnie Blockchain .
