Immunefi CEO Mitchell Amador warns that advanced AI models have triggered a "vulnerability apocalypse" in crypto security, giving hackers a significant advantage over defenders.
According to Amador, frontier AI systems are making it easier to discover software flaws, analyze smart contracts, and identify attack vectors at a scale never seen before.
He believes the security industry is currently behind the curve and estimates it could take 3–4 years for defenders to fully adapt and regain the upper hand.
The concern is that AI isn't just helping developers write code faster — it's also helping attackers find vulnerabilities faster, increasing the risk of exploits across DeFi, exchanges, wallets, and blockchain infrastructure.
For the crypto industry, the message is clear:
⚠️ AI is becoming a powerful tool for both builders and hackers.
The race to secure Web3 may be entering a whole new phase. 👀
