If we want to remain leaders in the field of artificial intelligence, the United States needs a unified set of rules.

At this stage of the AI race, we are ahead of all countries, but this will not last long if the rule-making process for AI is scattered among 50 states, many of which are just obstructing. There can be no doubt: this is how we will stifle AI at the very beginning of its development.

This week I will sign an executive order for unified rules for AI. Companies should not be required to obtain 50 different permits every time they plan to do something.
