🔥 ZKsync Lite officially "retired" from the year 2026 🔥

💥 ZKsync confirms it will cease operation of ZKsync Lite (v1.0) – the first ZK rollup of Ethereum launched in 2020.

The shutdown process will occur in a planned manner, along with guidance for safely withdrawing assets to Ethereum L1.

💎 Why was Lite discontinued?

✨ No support for smart contracts

✨ Outpaced by the zkEVM generation

✨ Matter Labs stopped developing Lite in 2023

⚙️ ZKsync is fully focused on the future

✨ The focus shifts to ZKsync Era (zkEVM)

✨ Developing ZK Stack architecture, modular & multi-chain

✨ Proposing a tokenomics overhaul: linked to cash flow, buyback & burn

👑 Even though "retired", ZKsync Lite is still recognized as the cornerstone of the ZK rollup era on Ethereum.
