Tether is making big moves again! USDT has gained recognition in Abu Dhabi

According to Odaily Planet Daily, Tether has made new progress! It announced that the versions of USDT issued by itself on many mainstream blockchains have been recognized by the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), becoming an accepted fiat reference token (AFRT).

This recognition is significant; those who have obtained authorization from the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) can now conduct regulated activities related to USDT on blockchains such as Aptos, Celo, Cosmos, Kaia, Near, Polkadot, Tezos, TON, and TRON. It’s worth noting that ADGM had already recognized the applications of USDT on Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche, so this further expands the use of USDT within the regulated digital asset framework of ADGM, covering a wider on-chain network.

Tether's CEO Paolo Ardoino also mentioned that this move demonstrates Tether's substantial efforts in promoting global financial inclusion and innovation, while also solidifying Abu Dhabi's status as a global center for compliant digital finance.
