In November 2025, the project suffered what was described as an exploit or coordinated โattackโ โ large holders converted โRiver Ptsโ into RIVER tokens then sold at once, triggering heavy downward pressure. The team responded with emergency buy-backs and paused conversions.
To mitigate future risk, a โConversion 2.0โ update was rolled out (late November 2025), with features like daily conversion caps, per-transaction limits, and a dynamic conversion curve that adjusts based on conversion volume โ plus requiring converted RIVER to be staked for a lock-up period to discourage immediate dumping.
On the upside, a governance module is slated for 2026, which promises to give staked RIVER holders voting power over key protocol parameters (conversion rules, collateral thresholds, treasury usage, etc.).
