#CPIWatch November US inflation (CPI) report is delayed due to the government shutdown earlier this year.
Normally it comes out tomorrow (Dec 10), but now it’s pushed to December 18, 8:30 AM.
Why it matters:
1. There’s no October report at all — completely skipped.
2. The last number we have is from September: 3.0% yearly inflation.
3. Experts expect November to show around 2.9% (a tiny bit cooler), mostly because gasoline prices dropped.
4. Shelter/rent costs are still high and keep inflation from falling faster.
The Federal Reserve meets tomorrow and Wednesday but will decide interest rates without seeing this fresh data. Markets still expect a small rate cuts, but everyone is nervous.
Delayed report → more uncertainty → markets on edge until Dec 18. 🚨
