More than 4 million Bitcoins are now held in global treasury bonds
The value of Bitcoins held in treasury bonds has officially surpassed 4 million Bitcoins, reflecting the accelerating adoption by institutions through exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
and public companies, governments, and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
This indicates a gradual shift from cycles driven by retail investors towards more strategic and long-term capital.
However, the qualitative gap remains. Despite its expanding scope,
Bitcoin is still traded as a risky asset: capital flows are largely speculative, and its behavior
in the market reflects the behavior of tech stocks during periods of volatility. Achieving a true "digital gold" status will take time, deeper participation from long-term horizon investors
and a repeated demonstration of resilience during real crises and correction cycles.
