Doge has been somewhat successful; I will not lead again: Elon Musk

The world's richest person, Elon Musk, has said about Donald Trump's administration's department 'Department of Government Efficiency (Doge)' that he will never lead this project again.

Trump appointed Elon Musk as the head of Doge, assigning him the responsibility of cutting government spending at the beginning of his administration this year. Musk made cuts in several departments during the first five months of the government and fired hundreds of people from public jobs.

Elon Musk faced harsh criticism in the U.S. due to his leadership of this department, and there was also a strong backlash against his company Tesla. Some individuals had even burned Tesla vehicles.

Elon Musk said in a podcast on Tuesday that Doge has been somewhat successful and he will not lead that department again.

Musk stated that he believes he should not have led Doge and should have focused on his companies. If that had happened, people would not have burned cars.

He further stated that we had some success. We prevented waste of public funding.

Elon Musk was very close to President Trump during the election campaign and the first few months of the other administration. But then the differences between the two intensified, and at one point, both had even posted against each other on social media.

Doge became inactive eight months before the end of its mandate. This department claimed to have cut billions of dollars in public spending, but those claims have not been verified by independent sources.
