Every new DeFi or RWA protocol launches into the same wall of skepticism. The questions never really change: “Is this safe?”, “Will the oracle break?”, “Are liquidations fair?”, “Is this just another experiment that blows up at the first stress event?” Teams try to answer with whitepapers, audits, branding, and tokenomics, but there’s a quieter signal that experienced users, auditors, and funds pay attention to: what infrastructure did this project choose to stand on? In that list, the data layer sits uncomfortably close to the top. You can fork code, hire new developers, redesign your UI – but if your protocol is built on a weak oracle or fragile data backbone, no amount of polish hides it for long.
