Elon Musk has confirmed that SpaceX will go public soon and expressed his regret for his role as leader of the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE).
When the space journalist Eric Berger published his analysis titled 'This is the reason I believe SpaceX will go public soon', Musk responded: 'As always, Eric is accurate'. Berger is considered the most reliable reporter on SpaceX.
In a podcast interview published on Tuesday with Katie Miller, former spokesperson for DOGE, Musk said he would not participate in DOGE again. 'I think instead of doing DOGE, I would have basically worked on my companies', he said. 'And they wouldn't be burning the cars' — referring to the acts of vandalism at Tesla dealerships during his time in government.
Musk described DOGE as only "a little successful" and "somewhat successful," a very modest valuation. He distanced himself from President Trump in June after labeling the government's tax law as "totally insane and destructive."
The simultaneous confirmation of the IPO and the regret over DOGE show that Musk is returning to focus on his business empire after a turbulent political phase.
