$BTC A growing wave of confidence in digital assets is reshaping wealth strategies across Asia, according to new insights from Sygnum’s “2025 Asia-Pacific High Net-Worth Individuals Report.” As reported by PANews, the study reveals a powerful trend: 60% of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in the Asia-Pacific region plan to increase their cryptocurrency holdings within the next two to five years.

The survey, which spans 270 seasoned investors—each holding more than $1 million in investable assets and boasting over a decade of professional investment experience—offers a rare look into how Asia’s wealth elite view the future of digital finance.

Digital Assets Shift From Speculation to Strategy

Far from treating crypto as a high-risk gamble, an overwhelming 90% of respondents consider digital assets essential tools for long-term wealth preservation and estate planning. This represents a significant evolution in sentiment, signaling that cryptocurrencies have crossed the threshold from experimental allocation to strategic necessity among Asia’s affluent investors.

The report also finds that 87% of surveyed HNWIs already hold cryptocurrencies, with nearly half allocating more than 10% of their portfolios to digital assets. On average, crypto represents 17% of portfolio composition, underscoring a strong baseline commitment even before planned increases.

Demand for Regulated Crypto Services on the Rise

As interest deepens, so does the desire for institutional-grade support. 87% of participants express a clear preference for doing business with regulated partners, prompting many to call on private banks and financial advisors to expand their crypto-related services. This shift highlights both rising trust in digital assets and the parallel demand for secure, compliant infrastructure.

Blockchain Tokens Remain Core Holdings

Among active crypto investors, 80% report holding major blockchain protocol tokens such as BTC, ETH, and SOL, reflecting the dominance of blue-chip digital assets in wealth preservation strategies. While motivations vary, portfolio diversification stands out as the most common driver, cited by 56% of respondents.

A Regional Wealth Landscape in Transition

As regulatory clarity improves and institutional adoption grows, Asia’s high-net-worth community appears poised to play an even larger role in shaping the next phase of global cryptocurrency investment. With a majority preparing to scale their exposure by 2025, digital assets are rapidly becoming a foundational component of wealth management across the region.
