#USJobsData Here’s a snapshot of the latest on US jobs data (labor market) as of December 2025 — what’s known, what’s uncertain, and what analysts are watching.

According to the most recent official report, the U.S. economy added 119,000 jobs in September 2025, and the reported unemployment rate was 4.4%.

For December 2024 (the most recent “full” month before 2025 data disruption), job gains were surprisingly strong: +256,000 jobs and unemployment at 4.1%.

Over 2024 as a whole, total payroll employment increased by about 2.2 million jobs, with an average monthly gain of roughly 186,000 jobs/month.

⚠️ What’s uncertain or worrisome

The official data for October 2025 was canceled due to a prolonged U.S. federal government shutdown, which prevented the necessary household-survey data collection.

Moreover, a recent revision by the statistical agency showed that the economy created 911,000 fewer jobs through March 2025 than earlier reported
