$TRUTH

Once upon a time, there lived an old man and an old woman — frail but friendly. One day, while gathering firewood in the mountains, the old man drank from a mysterious little lake. He felt as if his back pain had disappeared and his head was no longer tilting to the side. He got up, but his legs felt unfamiliar - they were eager to jump and run. The old man felt cheerful: “What a wonderful forest! What a bright sun! Life is good!”

The water turned out to be rejuvenating — he returned home as a young man, radiant and happy. The old woman could not believe her eyes — some young man was trying to hug her — but upon learning the truth, she was filled with resentment.

— Wait until morning, — he pleaded. — We will go together, we will find the little lake, and we will both become young.

But the old woman snorted: — You have become younger today, but do I have to wait? — and, ignoring him, she went into the foggy thicket at night.

In the morning, the old man discovered her absence and rushed to search for her, calling out until his voice became hoarse. He wandered through the forest for a long time until he heard a child's cry. By the little lake lay an infant wrapped in the old woman's kimono. He understood: she was in a hurry, drank too much — and had rejuvenated to a tiny baby. He sighed, picked up the child, and carried her home, hoping that he could raise her again to be a good wife.

The moral of the story: greed is the worst investor; if you rush, you will turn your portfolio into childhood.
