ZEC in Zcash proposed a dynamic fee system

The Zcash development team presented a plan for implementing dynamic fees. The new system is intended to protect users from network unavailability due to rising transaction costs amid the increase in ZEC prices.

Until now, fees in the network were fixed — initially 10,000 zats, then 1,000 zats. This allowed attackers to overload the blockchain and users' wallets with cheap transactions.
