🖥️🇳🇱 QUANTWARE REACHES THE SCALE OF 10,000 QUBITS: A TURNING POINT FOR QUANTUM 🖥️🇳🇱

QuantWare, Dutch leader in superconducting quantum processors, has announced a revolutionary breakthrough: the VIO-40K architecture, capable of realizing Quantum Processor Unit (QPU) chips with 10,000 qubits, 100 times superior to current systems stuck around 100 qubits.

For a decade, the quantum industry has struggled with hardware limitations: slow growth (Google from 53 to 105 qubits in 6 years, IBM at 120), complexity in connecting small processors, and high costs.

VIO-40K addresses these bottlenecks with a 3D chiplet design: modular stacks interconnected by 40,000 high-fidelity I/O lines, eliminating the exponential routing of signals in 2D chips.

The result?

More computational power per dollar and watt, in a reduced footprint compared to today's systems.

Compatible with any superconducting qubit, VIO-40K adopts the Quantum Open Architecture (QOA) standard and integrates with NVIDIA NVQLink and CUDA-Q, combining quantum hyperscale with high-throughput classical computing for fault-tolerant applications.

Ideal for chemistry, materials, energy, and drug discovery.

To support production, QuantWare is building Kilofab in Delft (NL), a dedicated QOA fab operational in 2026, which will multiply capacity by 20.

QuantWare, already a top supplier by volume, will ship the first VIO-40K in 2028 (estimated cost ~50M€ per chip).

CEO Matt Rijlaarsdam stated: "With the limit of scale removed, quantum computing now becomes economically viable."

QuantWare sets the new industrial standard.
