Hey guys, here’s the simple version of what just happened with Do Kwon (the guy behind Terra/LUNA):He made a “stable” coin called TerraUSD (UST) that was supposed to always be worth $1.
In 2022, it completely broke and fell to almost 0.
Because of that, people lost more than $40 billion dollars in days. Many normal people lost their life savings.
The U.S. court said Do Kwon lied to everyone and committed fraud.
Yesterday (Dec 10, 2025), the judge sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
He also has to give back more than $19 million that he made from the scam.
So basically: he promised something safe, it wasn’t, billions disappeared, and now he’s going to jail for a very long time.
