Hanoi People's Procuracy prosecuted Than Van Thoai, Ho Quoc Anh, and 13 accomplices for using computer networks to commit fraud and embezzlement and money laundering. Since 2019, Thoai established BBA Company and purchased the worthless virtual currency CBP, then together with accomplices called for investment in the BBI Mall and Speeding.vip applications under an illegal multi-level model. From 2021 to 2024, this group collected over 5.6 million USDT (approximately 130 billion VND), embezzling over 45 billion VND from dozens of victims. The embezzled money was used by Thoai to purchase forest land in Hoa Binh through Truong Van Ha, transferring a total of 106 billion VND to buy more than 538,000 m² of land and holding many land use rights certificates. The investigation agency has seized 63 land use rights certificates and completed the indictment against Than Van Thoai for the two above-mentioned charges.
