7000U rolling to 600,000, it's not that I became smarter, it's that I finally stopped being reckless
The week I got liquidated, I squatted in the bathroom counting my balance, 7000U, losing a total of 398,000, my hands shaking so much I couldn't even light a cigarette.
My wife yelled from outside, 'Lost it all again?' I replied, 'Just enough for a taxi,' but I couldn't even afford that.
The next day I uninstalled Douyin, left all the groups, and kept just one blank memo, writing down three lines:
1. Stop over-leveraging in live streams
2. Don't sleep if stop-loss isn't hit
3. Don't miss out on opportunities and regret
After reviewing for two days, I printed out the screenshots of my previous 46 liquidations, highlighting the same mistake in red — adding positions while in loss.
After reading it, I burned it all, leaving the ashes as an ashtray, a constant reminder.
The first recovery came on March 14th with ETH, the night before the Shanghai upgrade, on-chain Gas was 43 gwei, everyone was shouting 'sell the news,' I placed an order above 1820, 3x leverage, 10% position, stop-loss set at 1770.
Waking up the next day, +18%, account over 10,000, first I emptied the ashtray, then got a cup of Americano.
The real turnaround was with BNB.
On April 18th, the SEC sued Zhao Changpeng, a short order of 720 was placed in the market, but I had already buried 700U, sliding down to 610 without adding to my position, netting 24,000U in two days.
That day I changed my phone wallpaper to 'Don't be reckless,' and I haven't changed it since.
The most exhilarating part was BTC's baiting.
Before the CPI announcement on May 2nd, the funding rate was +0.05%, unusually high, I shorted in three batches at 28900, 29100, 29350, with a unified stop-loss at 29800.
Once the data was released, it was bearish, dropping to 26800, I took profit at 27100, and my account directly went up +30,000U.
That night, I treated my colleagues to skewers, spending 800, feeling pained for half a day.
Now the rules are rigid: each order fixed at 10%, stop-loss at 2%, and if profit exceeds 5%, transfer half of the U to a cold wallet.
I don't feel proud of the 600,000U; I just feel secure. Last night I saw a group mate flaunting 'doubling down', I replied: 'Bro, remember to write your liquidation diary, next time I'll print it out for you to burn.'
Real-time data: BTC current price 43450, ETH 2280, BNB 310, total liquidations across the network in 24 hours 320 million U, of which 85% are high leverage.
The market hasn't changed; it's just that I finally stopped gambling.
Those who can survive and make money in the market have always been the ones brave enough to take the first step.
