Bitcoin's Hype Cap Just Got Lowered by Wall Street's Biggest Bull Tom Lee just softened his $250,000 EOY $BTC call to a "maybe." More than $100,000 is still likely, but with volatility and drawdown risk front and center. Buckle up. Context in a Nutshell Tom Lee, formerly among the loudest voices calling for Bitcoin to hit $250,000 by end-2025, just dialed back his forecast. The new line: More than $100,000 remains likely, a new high is "maybe," but a blow-off blowout is no longer a given. What You Should Know Tom Lee has quietly stepped back from his previously bold call that Bitcoin would hit $250,000 by the end of 2025. Now he describes that target as a "maybe," while saying a sub-$250,000 year-end finish remains possible but far from certain. Instead, Lee now puts more emphasis on a return to "above $100,000" by year-end, possibly including a retest of the recent all-time high near $125,100. He still views the broader long-term picture as constructive: Lee argues that crypto's "marquee moves" tend to come in a small number of explosive trading days each year, meaning that even a sluggish summer could precede a volatile rally. At the same time, Lee acknowledges that volatility remains very real. He warns that, despite ETF adoption and growing institutional capital, Bitcoin could suffer 50% drawdowns, emphasizing that crypto still reacts to macro and traditional market shocks. Why Does This Matter? Because when one of the biggest institutional bulls changes tone, it shifts expectations. A massive end-of-year rally is no longer "inevitable," but a high-risk/high-reward scenario. This could dampen speculative appetite and encourage a more cautious, long-view approach. Market dynamics may lean toward accumulation and consolidation rather than parabolic moonshots. Bitcoin's bull narrative isn't dead; however, it is losing some of its swagger. The next few weeks matter. The ride up might be rocky, but for some, that's part of the plan. $BTC $ETH
