DTCC LAUNCHES #TOKENIZED SECURITIES PILOT APPROVED BY SEC

“These tokenized securities will allow us to bridge traditional markets with #blockchain technology while maintaining full investor protections,” said DTCC CEO Chris Concannon.

“A stock is still a stock whether it is a paper certificate, an entry in a DTCC account, or represented by a token on a public blockchain,” said SEC Chairman Paul S. Atkins.

The pilot covers liquid assets such as Russell 1000 securities, major ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries, enabling participants to record entitlements on approved blockchains.
