Is Pakistan Tokenizing Its Economy — or Putting Too Much Trust in Binance? While many countries are still arguing about crypto rules, Pakistan is already taking action and moving billions onto blockchain. Pakistan has signed an MoU with Binance to help tokenize up to $2 billion in government-owned assets and prepare for a national stablecoin. This makes Pakistan one of the most active emerging countries using blockchain for public finance. According to the Finance Ministry, Binance will act as an advisor, helping Pakistan use blockchain for: Government bonds Treasury bills Oil, gas, and metal reserves Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said this deal is an important step toward modernizing Pakistan’s financial system and building a long-term relationship with the global crypto industry. Binance founder CZ, now an advisor to Pakistan’s Crypto Council, said the MoU sends a strong signal that Pakistan is serious about blockchain adoption. The agreement is not final yet and still needs regulatory approval within six months, but it clearly shows Pakistan’s direction.
