🚨 The number of wealthy individuals in South Korea is expected to rise by 2025

According to ChainCatcher, a report released by KB Financial Group titled 'South Korea Wealth Report 2025' reveals significant growth in the number of high-net-worth individuals in the country. The report, based on data from ETNews, analyzes individuals whose financial and real estate assets exceed 1 trillion Korean won. It indicates that the number of high-net-worth individuals in South Korea is increasing at an annual rate of 9.7%, from 130,000 in 2011 to 476,000 by 2025.

The total financial assets of these individuals are also growing at an average annual rate of 7.2%, expanding from 1,158 trillion won in 2011 to 3,066 trillion won by 2025. This year marks the first time their financial assets surpass the threshold of 3,000 trillion won.

The report also highlights a shift in the composition of assets among the wealthy in South Korea. While the proportion of real estate assets has decreased, the share of physical assets such as gold and jewelry, as well as crypto assets, has increased.
