"Firedancer, Solana’s new validator client developed by Jump Crypto, officially launched on mainnet on December 12, 2025, marking a transformative upgrade for the network. After three years of development and over 100 days of rigorous testing—during which it produced more than 50,000 blocks without downtime—Firedancer is now actively validating real-world transactions.

Firedancer replaces the need for full system restarts during upgrades thanks to its modular architecture, allowing components to be updated independently with zero downtime. This contrasts with Solana’s legacy client, which requires complete shutdowns for updates."
