MetaMask has officially launched native Bitcoin (BTC) support, enabling users to buy BTC directly with fiat, send transactions on the Bitcoin mainnet, and swap BTC with EVM-native assets and SOL. The current release prioritizes SegWit addresses, with Taproot address support to be added later. MetaMask also said that swapping BTC within the app will earn MetaMask Rewards points.
