❌ Buffett is not "betting against the dollar." And here’s what he’s actually doing

Recently, there have been claims that Warren Buffett supposedly:

• is transferring hundreds of billions into yen;

• is hedging against the decline of the dollar;

• is preparing for a de-dollarization era.

This is an exaggeration.

🔹 Buffett does indeed say:

• governments have a tendency to devalue currency over time;

• U.S. fiscal policy worries him.

🔹 But this does not mean that:

• he is "getting out of the dollar";

• he is making a macro bet against the USD;

• he is holding Berkshire cash in yen.

📌 What is he actually doing?

• Berkshire is investing in Japanese companies;

• using yen financing as a natural hedge;

• balance currency risks at the business level rather than the ideological level.

👉 This is the difference between:

a macro scare from Twitter

and

conservative corporate risk management.

Buffett is not predicting a dollar collapse.

He simply does not trust any currency "forever" — and acts accordingly.
