ChainCatcher message, according to CoinDesk reports, U.S. Senator Warren has called for a national security investigation into a segment of the cryptocurrency sector. She specifically expressed concerns about the decentralized exchange PancakeSwap, claiming that the exchange attempts to elevate the token issued by World Liberty Financial (WLFI), which is associated with President Trump.
In a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Attorney General Pam Bondi on Monday, Warren stated that the exchange operates on multiple blockchains and is a major protocol on the Binance Smart Chain. She requested an examination of whether it is linked to any "improper political influence" exerted by the Trump administration on law enforcement decisions. She asked both to investigate this, which echoes a similar request she made last month concerning WLFI. Warren is a senior Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, which must revise and approve legislation before the broader Senate can vote. Since a significant portion of her Democratic colleagues on the Senate Banking Committee has agreed to negotiate with Republicans on the cryptocurrency market structure bill, Warren has largely been excluded from the committee's negotiations on crypto legislation.
