📢 PRO BITCOIN UPDATE 🇺🇸
Dec 19, 2025 — U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, one of the strongest crypto advocates in Congress, announced she will not seek reelection in 2026 and will leave the Senate when her current term expires in January 2027.
Lummis has been a key force behind major crypto-friendly legislation, including efforts to establish clearer market structure rules for digital assets and proposals to create a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve — a federal initiative to hold Bitcoin as a national financial asset.
Her decision removes a highly experienced pro-crypto voice from Capitol Hill, introducing uncertainty around the future of the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the digital assets market structure bill as Congress heads into the 2026 election year.
Lummis has said she will continue to work on crypto policy during her remaining time in office, but her departure opens the question of who will lead these legislative priorities next.
