The CEO of Maple Finance predicts a shift to on-chain capital markets
According to PANews, co-founder and CEO of Maple Finance, Sidney Powell, stated that traditional decentralized finance (DeFi) is "dead," defining the future as on-chain capital markets. Powell emphasized that as institutions increasingly move to on-chain trading, settlement, and clearing operations, the traditional reliance on intermediaries and infrastructure in Wall Street will be reduced. He said, "On-chain markets will swallow Wall Street."
Powell highlighted that the early industry model, which focused on speculation and simple lending, will be replaced by more institutional financial infrastructure on-chain. Future capital market activities are expected to occur directly on public or permissioned blockchains, rather than relying on traditional intermediaries and investment banks.$BTC
