Lighter operates as a zero-knowledge rollup-based perpetual derivatives decentralized exchange (DEX) on Ethereum Layer 2. Since publicly launching its mainnet on October 1, 2025, Lighter has rapidly gained traction as a significant competitor to Hyperliquid.
