I used to believe in “hard work,” staying up late watching the market, frequently trading, but my account was repeatedly harvested.
Only later did I understand that the market is meant to be followed, not to be fought against. When I truly began to earn steadily, I was doing precisely some “very lazy” things:
1. Survive first, then talk about making money
Once I received my principal, the first thing I did was to set aside half as a “ballast” and not touch it, only using the other half for trading. This way, even if I made a wrong judgment, it wouldn’t hurt too much. Surviving is essential before discussing compound interest.
2. Opportunities that come are not seized
I do not chase uptrends but patiently wait for market sentiment to reach an extreme and for the technical structure to fully develop before taking a small position. I set stop-loss orders in advance, and if I incur losses, I accept it without lingering. Most of the time is spent waiting; when I act, I aim for results.
3. Only use profits to “snowball”
Once the market moves favorably, I never increase my principal, only using profits to seek greater returns. I always leave room for maneuver, and once I’ve earned a certain amount, I secure it first, ensuring profits do not flow back.
4. If the rhythm is off, stop immediately
I set strict rules for myself: do not trade when emotions are unstable, stop after consecutive losses, and withdraw once the target is reached. Once the rhythm is disrupted, I withdraw from the market immediately. Preserving principal and mindset is more important than seizing a single opportunity.
In this market, “laziness” is not inactivity but avoiding unnecessary actions. Breaking down risks to the minimum, slowing down the trading rhythm, compound interest will naturally bring you surprises. The market is maturing; those who survive are not the bravest but the steadiest.
